About GATE
GATE is conducted jointly by IISc Bangalore and the seven old IITs. Essential for M.Tech/M.E./M.S./Ph.D. admissions at IITs, NITs, IISc, and IIITs. GATE scores are also used by major PSUs (IOCL, BHEL, NTPC, GAIL, ONGC, HPCL) for direct recruitment.

Candidates in 3rd year or higher of B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharm/B.Sc. Research; or Master's degree in Science/Arts/Commerce (for relevant papers)
